Hi I'm designing a website to showcase my music videos and future student films when i return to college next week.

I have in the past used the divx player but for some reason since upgrading to their latest version it is giving constant errors and seems like this is a major issue with the player.

So i decided to look for another way of showing videos on my site with as little fuss for the viewer as possible, so through a google search i found your player.

I have downloaded the trial version and tried it out with a video that is in a mov and one in a mp4 format. It is still on my homedrive as still building the site, but when i save and go into the page to view it in firefox from my dreamweaver cs4 it gives me an error and says its missing the files that i directed it to on my root folder for the videos! Can you please help me as really want to get the site up and done this week and if this player works then I will happily purchase the full copy.

Thanks

Kate

I am having the same issue in Dreamweaver CS5. When I press "Play" in Dreamweaver, I get the error message "Missing Files ..." Or if I save my page and try to Preview in Browser IE...I get that a potentially unsafe program was blocked.
Does this mean that I can only preview the player after my page is uploaded to the web?

Thanks!
James

I too am having the same problem. I am using Dreamweaver CS3 and CS5 on two separate HDD. I use Xammp as my local server using port 79. When I want to test and view the video on the local server, I get the following error: missing file(s): file:///C|/xampp/htdocs/wa_kwena_chalets/video/Kwe01intro.flv being displayed in the preview tab of the user interface. Yet, when I go to the playlist tab, I can see the selected video playing in the preview thumbnail area. After I upload all the files to the server, I also get the missing file scenario. missing file(s): http://www.fit8.co.za/kwena/video/Kwe01intro.flv

However, when setting up site with no testing server, previewing on IIS local server displays flash video. When uploading files to live server and testing I then get Missing file(s): error. See link: http://www.fit8.co.za/kwena/sample/k1.html

Please advise before I decide to purchase multidomain version

Testing on local server:

http://localhost:79/wa_kwena_chalets/K1_3.html

Error

Config XML not found ( check path in the UI >> Player >> Player files >> Config XML path ):
Player_files/config.xml

Play List XML not found ( check path in the UI >> Player >> Player files >> XML PlayList Path ):
Player_files/playList.xml

Testing on live server:

http://www.fit8.co.za/kwena/k1_3.html

Error

MISSING FILE(S):
http://www.fit8.co.za/kwena/video/k1_intro3.flv

I've checked your page with the player - http://www.fit8.co.za/kwena/sample/k1.html

The player shows the exact place where it's trying to find the video file
http://www.fit8.co.za/kwena/sample/vide ... intro5.flv

If you placed the file "k1_intro5.flv" in the folder - "http://www.fit8.co.za/kwena/sample/video_files/" and it doesn't work, so that even the link http://www.fit8.co.za/kwena/sample/vide ... intro5.flv returns error in a browser, ask your hosting provider if the FLV file type is allowed.

They often disable FLV format by default.

Thanks Big Nic,

Same problem.

I have purchased the multi-domain bundle for Flash player and gallery. Uninstalled the free Flash player version and installed the multi-domain Flash player.

Set up a new site in Dreamweaver and created multi-scenario testing. Same problem with the missing files. http://www.fit8.co.za/StunningWeb/test.html

In design view, clicking the Flash player play button in the properties window, the Flash player displays the movie correctly. How ever, at the same movie does not play on the live server.

I have tested the demo on the live server. This displays of preview and thumbnail images, but still experience of the same problem when clicking on the thumbnails to view the flash file.

When I double click the player.swf file, a Adobe Flash player 9 pop-up window opens. I have version 10,1,102,64 installed.

Urgently need help to finish this project as deadline and penalties approach. Much appreciated.

Will check suggestion and report back.

Thank You
Frank

Frank,
insert the URL in your browser - http://www.fit8.co.za/StunningWeb/video/k13.flv
What you get?

1. Make sure the file exists.
2. Ask your hosting provider if the FLV file type is allowed on your server.

Thanks Big Nic,

Your suggestion corrected the "missing file(s)" error.

To correct: Allow FLV files
Change from Hosting Control Panel: select domain, then:

Add MIME Type.

Add New

Extention: .flv

Content Type: video/x-xlv

Much Appreciated
