‘Play Once’ Capability:

Looking to implement an F4V to play once per session capability. This capability is mostly used for ‘intro’ or ‘splash’ flash presentations on the index.html, but can have other applications.

a) The Player should track a session or persistant cookie to 'play once' per session, per user or per a time-frame (days).
b) If cookies are disabled, or this is not the first visit to the page, an optional still image should be presented (or blank if null).

Final Frame Capability:

When a flash finishes playing, the player currently presents a final blank frame with the play button. This behavior should be modified per user option to:
a) keep current behavior
b) present the final frame with/without the play button
c) present an alternate still image of same frame size with/without play button.
Other Flash Players have this capability.

Would be willing to directly contribute toward development costs to achieve capabilities.

If you use preview image then at the end of the video you get the preview image and play button (if the big play button enabled). I think in your situation you are using a frame from the video.

I am using the preview image solution now, but this is really a work-around. You see a blink as it switched files. a true final frame hold would just display the frame and hold -- no 1 second blink.

how are you doing on the play once? i have looked at some of the js examples in your blog, so was wondering if you have an example of a play-once implementation? I can not get my js to work.
