Has anyone successfully programmed the Web Stunning Player to accept the pre-roll ad message video from an ad server rather that the menu driven playlist?
If so, any direction or sample code would be helpful.

You can use any AD server for your advertising. The main thing is a video link must return an video, .flv, .mov, .f4v, .mp4, .m4a, .mp4v, .3gp and .3g2 files.
Also you can use video streams: RTMP, RTMPT, RTMPS, RTMPE or RTMPTE.
